Fight summer boredom in this imagination inspired playmaking class. Michael Ian Black’s book, I’m Bored provides the jumping off place for students to show off all the AMAZING things kids can do! Extra Yarn – A Cozy Adventure

Together, with a professional puppet artist, student will devise stories and build puppets to bring their wildest dreams to life.  Students will also construct puppet stages and will learn techniques to perform stories with puppets both individually and in groups which will be presented at a “shareformance” during the final class. Mythologicals

Greek mythology comes to life as students learn about mythology, create characters, and devise their own “shareformance” for the last day which could feature Herculues, Medusa, the minataur, unicorns, griffins, mermaids or even giants!

Beauty and the Beast

Enchanted castles, a magical beast, and a girl who has the power to change everything.  Students will create a unique version of this classic fairytale through set painting, acting, and improvisation that will all come to life at the “shareformance” during the final class.

Brontasaurus for a Pet?!?

“I want a brontasaurus for a pet” with this demand Lulu tries to convince her parents that a dinosaur is the perfect pet.  Inspired by the chapter book, Lulu and the Brontasaurus by Judith Viorst and Lane Smtih, young actors will use movement, music, and props to devise a “shareformance” for the  final class.

The Stinky Cheeseman

Monster Mayhem

Is there a monster under the bed, in the closet, right behind you!? Young actors will utilize favorite monster books as inspiration, and then will collaborate to create their own original monster world.  A” shareformance” of their original piece will occur during the final class.
