The Jungle Book

March 9 – May 5, 2017

Mowgli is rambunctious and curious, scrappy and silly. Sound like a kid you know? This new adaptation of the beloved Rudyard Kipling story finds a child lost in the Indian jungle, where he is adopted by Baloo the Bear, Bagheera the panther, and all the beasts who call the mysterious wilderness home. This fast-paced retelling keeps you perched on the edge of your seat as young Mowgli comes face-to-face with sneaky monkeys, noisy vultures and his mortal enemy: the tiger, Shere Khan.

Praise for The Jungle Book

“…The Jungle Book, directed by DCT’s artistic director Steve Wilson, is as polished, poetic, wonderful, and whimsical as anyone, young or old, could ever wish.” –Patrick Dorn

“I just feel like this work is vitally important because there is this void. It’s a very, very important torch that we carry,” [Steve Wilson] said. “It’s a live art form, which I think is increasingly important, even though we have increasing competition from our multiple screens, but that live connection is vital.” –The Denver Post

dct_logoAbout the Denver Children’s Theatre

For those unfamiliar with the award-winning Denver Children’s Theatre, we have been producing quality theatre for young audiences (children ages 7 and up) for 20 years, presenting a fully mounted mainstage production featuring some of the finest adult professional actors in the region.

This year we are excited to offer The Jungle Book. Based on the popular children’s book by Rudyard Kipling, this fast-paced retelling keeps you perched on the edge of your seat as young Mowgli comes face-to-face with sneaky monkeys, noisy vultures and his mortal enemy: the tiger, Shere Khan.

We look forward to another season as we continue our artistic journey to educate, enlighten and entertain children and families through quality live theatre productions.
