On September 5, 1972, eight Palestinian terrorists broke into the living quarters of the Olympic Village in Munich, taking eleven Israeli athletes as hostages. The standoff lasted 20 hours and ended with a disastrous rescue attempt. Munich ’72 and Beyond explores this devastating event forty-three years later with new interviews with eyewitnesses, officials, and the victims’ relatives. An intensely emotional account of the first act of modern terrorism viewed worldwide as it unfolded, Munich ’72 and Beyond exposes shocking new information about the tragic events and their devastating aftermath, as well as chronicling the four-decade-long struggle to create a public memorial to the victims of the massacre.

Following the screening, Michael Cascio, executive producer of Munich ’72 and Beyond, will join us for a discussion on the film.
