The Elaine Wolf Theatre Construction Update – Week of December 5, 2011

Last week there were a few challenges as we raised the vertical “WOLF” sign for the first time and the connections were not right – so back to the sign shop for some adjustments.  We did complete most of the grouting on the stonework, the steel foundation for our mezzanine and finished installing the glass in the lower level of our exterior tower.

Planned work this week includes setting glass into the upper portion of the tower, continued steel work on the floor and decking of the mezzanine as well as electrical, plumbing and heating infrastructure in the theatre.  In addition, we do hope to complete the vertical “WOLF” sign on the exterior of the theatre.

We are delighted to announce that we have received a significant gift from Elaine Wolf for a major renovation of our mainstage theatre space.  The renovation will include a new mezzanine level (adding about 120 seats), a fully accessible row in the orchestra, new stage floor, new electronic marquee, new lobby, new lighting and sound equipment and much more.  Work began in the summer of 2011 and continues through early 2012.  A reminder that we are open for business during the entire construction period!!

We are excited to announce that our theatre grand opening event will be held on Saturday, March 24 and feature the Grammy award winning group, The Manhattan Transfer.  Keep an eye on our website for details coming soon!
