The Elaine Wolf Theatre Construction Update – Week of November 14, 2011

With our amazing JAAMM Fest completed, we look to our final major event of the year with the opening of our fall musical Pippin on November 30.  After that, our next major program will take place in our new theatre space.  Getting closer…

Work continued last week as we completed the installation of our elevator within the exterior tower.  Note that we had planned ten days for this and it only took five. We also made great progress on the exterior stonework.  Currently, we are on schedule for our January completion date.

Planned work this week includes continued steel work on the mezzanine, stone and glasswork for the exterior tower, as well as electrical, plumbing and heating infrastructure in the theatre.

We are delighted to announce that we have received a significant gift from Elaine Wolf for a major renovation of our mainstage theatre space.  The renovation will include a new balcony, accessible aisle, new stage, new electronic marquee, new lobby, new lighting and sound equipment and much more.  This summer we are working to complete all exterior elements of the project while the weather is warm.  Interior work will begin in August, once our summer program is completed.  A reminder that we are open for business during the entire construction period!!

We apologize in advance for our mess and any disruption this will cause (noise, parking, dust, etc).  Sometime in early 2012, we will proudly unveil the new state-of-the-art Elaine Wolf Theatre.
