The Elaine Wolf Theatre Construction Update – Week of November 21, 2011

As the exterior of the building comes further and further into focus, our excitement builds for an extraordinary facility.

Work continued last week as we continued on the erection of the steel infrastructure that will support the mezzanine.  We hope to complete this process by next week.  Major progress was made on the stonework as well as well as lots of “behind the walls” labor.  Note that we have laid over one mile of new conduit and wiring.

Planned work this week includes beginning to grout the exterior stonework and set glass into the tower, continued steel work and beginning to rough in the electrical on the mezzanine as well as electrical, plumbing and heating infrastructure in the theatre.

We are delighted to announce that we have received a significant gift from Elaine Wolf for a major renovation of our mainstage theatre space.  The renovation will include a new mezzanine level (adding about 120 seats), a fully accessible row in the orchestra, new stage floor, new electronic marquee, new lobby, new lighting and sound equipment and much more.  Work began in the summer of 2011 and continues through early 2012.  A reminder that we are open for business during the entire construction period!!

We are excited to announce that our theatre grand opening event will be held on Saturday, March 24 and feature the Grammy award winning group, The Manhattan Transfer.  Keep an eye on our website for details coming soon!
