The Elaine Wolf Theatre Construction Update – Week of November 28, 2011

We hope everyone enjoyed a warm and joyous Thanksgiving holiday.

Work last week included the erection of the steel infrastructure that will support the mezzanine.  The stonework was completed and awaits grouting.  Major progress was made on the marquee finish as well as lots of additional infrastructure.

Planned work this week includes beginning to grout the exterior stonework and set glass into the tower, continued steel work on the mezzanine as well as electrical, plumbing and heating infrastructure in the theatre.  In addition, we will erect the signature vertical “WOLF” sign to the exterior of the theatre.

GENERAL PROJECT INFORMATION:

We are delighted to announce that we have received a significant gift from Elaine Wolf for a major renovation of our mainstage theatre space.  The renovation will include a new mezzanine level (adding about 120 seats), a fully accessible row in the orchestra, new stage floor, new electronic marquee, new lobby, new lighting and sound equipment and much more.  Work began in the summer of 2011 and continues through early 2012.  A reminder that we are open for business during the entire construction period!!

We are excited to announce that our theatre grand opening event will be held on Saturday, March 24 and feature the Grammy award winning group, The Manhattan Transfer.  Keep an eye on our website for details coming soon!
