The Elaine Wolf Theatre Construction Update – Week of November 7, 2011

We are deeply appreciative to all who attended our many JAAMM Fest events over the last few weeks. Our JAAMM encore event will be held on Sat. Nov. 12 at the Newman Center and feature Abraham Inc – a fantastic mix of klezmer, funk and jazz (for more info go We are proud of the overwhelming support of our audiences – especially considering our major performance facility was under construction.

Work continued last week as we moved forward with the installation of the steel infrastructure that will support the new mezzanine level. We also began the stonework on the lower part of the exterior – featuring beautiful Jerusalem stone. The elevator arrived in preparation for installation.

Planned work this week includes the beginning of the elevator installation, continued steel work on the mezzanine, stone and glasswork for the exterior tower, as well as electrical, plumbing and heating infrastructure in the theatre.

We are delighted to announce that we have received a significant gift from Elaine Wolf for a major renovation of our mainstage theatre space.  The renovation will include a new balcony, accessible aisle, new stage, new electronic marquee, new lobby, new lighting and sound equipment and much more.  This summer we are working to complete all exterior elements of the project while the weather is warm.  Interior work will begin in August, once our summer program is completed.  A reminder that we are open for business during the entire construction period!!

We apologize in advance for our mess and any disruption this will cause (noise, parking, dust, etc).  Sometime in early 2012, we will proudly unveil the new state-of-the-art Elaine Wolf Theatre.
