The Elaine Wolf Theatre Construction Update – Week of October 24, 2011

The renovation continues, but rest assured the MACC is open for business – especially this week as we are packed with programming for our amazing JAAMM Festival featuring arts, authors, movies and music events throughout the week!  Check our website at for more information.

Work continued during last week as we prepare for the beginning of the infrastructure for the largest component of the renovation – the mezzanine.  Our grand arc continues to evolve each day and the steel supports for our marquee is also filling out.  Both elements will make a dramatic statement as you walk up to the building.

Planned work this week includes duct work, fire sprinkler piping, begin framing the lobby and major work on fabricating steel and the beginning of installation for the mezzanine.

We are delighted to announce that we have received a significant gift from Elaine Wolf for a major renovation of our mainstage theatre space.  The renovation will include a new balcony, accessible aisle, new stage, new electronic marquee, new lobby, new lighting and sound equipment and much more.  This summer we are working to complete all exterior elements of the project while the weather is warm.  Interior work will begin in August, once our summer program is completed.  A reminder that we are open for business during the entire construction period!!

We apologize in advance for our mess and any disruption this will cause (noise, parking, dust, etc).  Sometime in early 2012, we will proudly unveil the new state-of-the-art Elaine Wolf Theatre.
